CTIC
Who are we
A technological infrastructure serving the Portuguese leather and tanning industry.
CTIC supports companies and sector entities through innovation, research, quality, training, sustainability, and competitiveness.
CTIC is a technological infrastructure that acts as a promoter and catalyst for innovation and value creation in the national leather industry, actively contributing to the sector’s competitiveness.
Its creation arose in a period of transformation within the industry, which, after experiencing significant growth in the 1980s driven by the footwear industry, began to face new challenges such as market globalization, increased international competition, and the need for technological innovation and sustainability.
Inaugurated on June 7, 1994, CTIC has since played a strategic role in supporting companies in the sector, promoting modernization, applied research, and technological development. In 1995, it began the accreditation process of its laboratories, reinforcing the quality and credibility of the services provided.
